Boombappers in Temporary Residence
Even before the salutation: Behold this image captured and made awesome by Jason Hallen, who was a joy at the first Wednesday even without the amazing photography for no reason but that he is a good human!
And now:
Hello there, friends from far and wide as well as the subset of friends from near and narrow.
Thank you for reading my last note here, heretofore known as The Marathon Epiphany, and thanks especially to those who said such nice things in response.
Relatedly, allow me to remind you—or tell you for the first time—about a funny line from the first play I acted in, Williams College, September 1996: “I had this…epiphanosis!”
Moving on,
Brady and I, the duo known at various times as
Mom and Dad
Honey Bunches of Notes
The Bonk
Outernet
Ticker
and per C’s most outstanding suggestion today, about which Brady is hearing for the first time: My Noise Rock Cousin,
continue our series of First Wednesdays for the second Wednesday, TOMORROW at the Contented Cow. We will start the booms and baps at 9:30p.m. and would love to see you there.
I have often talked about this thing we do in violent language, like “smashrock” or “facedestroyer” or “obliterate-y.” But this is sort of how I’ll sometimes say “listen, I wrote a pop song!” and people are like “you are talking over backwards cicadas run through an amplified reverse toilet flush for seventy minutes.” To which I say “whatever do you even lift.” Also, I don’t entirely know what this music is. I do know that it’s absolutely ecstatic to play when it really gets going. And when those moments of ecstatic joining happen, I think to myself It would be so cool if other humans could join us in this slaphappy godhead state.
So if you want to come you totally should! I would like to embrace you with our boopedoops and bleeps and ker-bangs, and I would like for the Cow to invite us again so—epiphanosis—they need at some point to say “Jeepers, there are a lot of people here!”
Thank you for reading my maniac rantings, always, and I hope that you are all doing well, or doing okay.
